Manga Tarot Video Review

As I promised in a comment about the Magic Manga Tarot (AGM Müller, 2008), starting on Saturday I will be drawing from the Manga Tarot (Lo Scarabeo, 2006).  This is a deck I absolutely adore!  So, I thought I'd do a video review of it to show the images for anyone who might be tempted, and to talk about some of the reasons I like it so much :)  Check the video out here.

  1. I like this. I like it a lot. I have looked at samples online before, but it never really struck me in the same way as looking at it in your video; there is something about seeing the actual cards being handled, and I hadn't noticed that change of colour in suits, which I like. It seems to have more substance than the other manga tarots I've seen (set aside The Fey, but I am not sure you'd necessarily call that Manga).

Changing the genders really makes you look at those cards differently - it's a real case of 'who's been sleeping in my bed?' lol. Makes them stand out. I adore that 3 of Cups. I wonder if the deck would appeal to some gay men, since a lot of the switches does give a flamboyant and sensitive feel to it.

Great video and review. I have been trying out videos on my blog (partly inspired by yourself and Ms Mentha). They are a bit shaky at the moment and I am finding the editing a bit difficult, but it is inspiring to watch your examples. Thanks.

  2. Hi PLN,

Well, if I have enabled you with this deck, my job is done ;D

It is a lovely deck, with lots of subtle cues to interesting perspectives!

Enjoying your vids, hope you keep them up.
