Zombie Apocalypse TaROT Review

For a complete change of pace, starting on Saturday I will be drawing from the Zombie Apocalypse TaROT (putting the ROT into TaROT).  This deck (2012) is self-published by the artist, Joe Frost, through Game Crafter, and is not for the faint of heart.  Still, if you like dark humour, this deck has it by the bucketful.  I have now up-dated the review with information on Game Crafter's helpful response to the uneven backs.  To see the review, click here.

  1. Goodness ...

I don't think I could use this as I am not a lover of zombies or all that goes with them, but there is some real stunning photography going on there. I could really use some of them if they were in a less extreme set. I noticed that I was screwing my face up as you were going through them, lol

  2. Hi PLN,

As I say, it's not for everyone, that's for sure. Could be great for Hallowe'en, though. After Doreen Virtue's Angel Tarot and now the Fifth Tarot, it may be a bit of a shock to the system, I guess... You'll have to peek through slitted eyes next week to check if you want to look at the daily draw or not ;D

  3. Haha. I think some of them are very beautiful and fun too. But there are a few that are a bit stomach churning. I will read next week's draws from behind the sofa, Chloe :)

  4. I so want to love this deck! My only complaint is as you have mentioned, so many cards do not really relate to the traditional meaning! Ugh,this is so irritating because in somany ways it is so cool, and the humor in some of this just cracks me up lmao! Like the Ace and 4 of Wands! So do I make the cool zombies suffer by me not purchasing the deck, like the Knight of Swords, King of Pents and 2 of Cups and the very cool Moon, High Priestess and Empress? Or do I just suck it up and enjoy the cool ones and accept that there are some that make no sense other than interesting, artistic, zombie photographs? Decisions...lol Thanks for showing so many of the cards and sharing this very cool deck though!

    1. Hi Krysten,

It is a tough call. I can't imagine reading much with this deck precisely because of that difficulty. I might take it for a spin at Halloween, or if I knew someone loved Zombie stuff, but other than that...
